Pro and Licensing
DevDb is free. A DevDb Pro license adds remote connections and more datastores.

Without a license, the DevDb panel lists the Pro datastores under Available with Pro. Pro datastores that zero-config detection finds, for example Redis, ClickHouse, Neon, Turso or DynamoDB Local, show as locked rows. DevDb does not connect to them.
Buy a license
See the plans on the DevDb Pro pricing page. After payment, you get an email with your license key.
License keys start with DEVDBM- or DEVDBY-.
Activate a license
- Open the Command Palette.
- Run DevDb Pro: Manage License.
- Paste your license key, then press
Enter.
You can also click the activate button in the DevDb panel.
Activation needs an internet connection. DevDb keeps the license in the secret storage of your editor.
Multiple editors and computers
- A license activation is for one computer. DevDb identifies the computer with a machine ID.
- On one computer, you can use the same license in more than one editor, for example VS Code and Cursor. Enter the key once in each editor. This uses one activation.
- The number of computers depends on your plan. If you reach the limit, activation fails with "License activation limit reached".
- If you move the license data to a different computer, DevDb removes it. Activate the license again on the new computer.
Manage a license
Run DevDb Pro: Manage License, then select an action:

Renewal and expiry
- DevDb checks the license online after the stored expiry date.
- After a license expires, Pro features continue to work for one month. Renew in this time to keep access.
- If the license is not valid, DevDb shows a warning with Enter New License.
