- DevDb groups keys by namespace: the part of the key before the first
:. For example,user:42is in theusernamespace. - DevDb reads keys with
SCAN. It does not useKEYS, so it does not block the server. - On large databases, DevDb stops counting after 50,000 keys and shows an estimate.
- Hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets and streams show one row for each element. DevDb loads large values in pages.
Edit data
You can edit values, set values to null, and delete rows from the table view. DevDb collects the changes in an edit session. Press Cmd+S / Ctrl+S to save. See Edit data.
Command console
The console sends Redis commands to the server (RESP). Type a command, then press Enter or click Run:
GET user:42
HGETALL session:abc
TTL cache:homeYou can also send a JSON array: ["SET", "greeting", "hello world"].
Write confirmation
DevDb runs read commands (for example GET, HGETALL, SCAN, TTL, INFO) immediately.
For all other commands, DevDb shows the command and asks you to confirm before it sends it. This includes commands that change data (SET, DEL, EXPIRE) and admin commands (FLUSHALL, CONFIG SET). Click Run command to send it. Click Cancel or press Esc to discard it.
Cancel
While a command runs, DevDb shows a bar with a Cancel button. Click it to stop waiting for the result.
MCP
MCP clients can run Redis commands through the MCP server. By default, DevDb accepts only read commands from MCP clients.
Troubleshooting
WRONGPASSorNOAUTH: the username or password is not correct. See Troubleshooting.- Connection refused: the host or port is not correct, or the server does not accept remote connections.
- TLS errors: for a managed service, turn on TLS or use a
rediss://URL.
